We ordered a refrigerator for $ 3200 on May 20 which was not in stock and was advised should be ready for delivery July 8. We received an e-mail June 21 advising that the delivery date was pushed out as we had not made a payment in full required 4 weeks in advance of delivery. When we called we were informed that the refrigerator was estimated to arrive in Canada in mid August and we were asked to pay now. We questioned this business practice of payment 4 weeks before delivery without any specific delivery date or guarantee and asked to speak to management which was refused. How can we meet contract terms of payment 4 weeks prior to delivery and not get a delivery date I.e. If current shipment arrival is mid August, how can Geomans request payment now. This is not ethical business behavior. Further the practice of providing a payment link in lieu of a direct payment to Geomans seems to indicate that there is possibly another party involved under contract with Geomans to manage the payment process which was not disclosed to us. We placed the order with Geomans based on a neighbor's recommendation and a deeply concerned not to have placed the order with another company that offered the same unit as essentially the same price. Please respond to above and if it better for both parties to cancel the contract and refund the deposit.
